Did you make sure the monitors were turned on? Sometimes when I'm looking for my glasses I forget that their on my face.

Do the monitors have built in amplification? Or do you need to connect them to an amp?

Your sounds are routed through the wrong sound interface.
Open your control panel, select sounds/multimedia, select the audio tab, select the fasttrack as the prefered audio playback device.
