recording problem

hey guys im new and i dotn know much about recording but i own, a macbook, logicpro, 4 shure mics, Tascam us-428 and the problem is i cant get any sound out of the mics everything is plugged in correctly just i cant record any one have any suggestions??

Hi.

It could be many things.

1) Is the mic signal coming into the Tascam?
- When you turn the Trim button to the right(mic), and speak into the mic, does the green "signal" light turn on?
- Using headphones on the Tascam, do you hear your voice?
- If not, what kind of Shure mics are you using? if they are condenser mics, they need to be powered, either by batteries or "phantom" power, but the Tascam us-428 does not have this feature.

2) If the signal is coming in, is it reaching the mackbook? Is the tascam "driver" installed?
