Cool

First time in nearly 3 months that I've been drawn back to the Canvas.
This is a synth background that needs a vocal track.
A real drum track (as opposed to the canned stuff I used) would really be nice as well.
The lyrics may not go anywhere but they focus on the subject of:
"Making Too Many Cat Runs"
The constant battle of coming and going with piles of new and used cat supplies.
Job Security in a Multiple Cat Household.

Keeps bombing out at 130K..... Upload it somewhere else, lycos perhaps. Although I'm probably the only one who has this problem.

Nice hearing some guitars in there, gotta do more of that. Swing over funk, cool!(Had a few DAB, so my interpretation may be off) I like when the drums come in with the straight 4 beat Good stuff.

BTW, no problems with the lycos download.

GOT-DAAAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMMMNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!
This is the 1st time I heard any of your music and your
musical synchopation use of you keyboard style vs
the rhythm is awesome. Especially the use of seemingly
3rd note chords against the root note of the phrase (did I make any sense hear!!??)
In other words, I Loved it! Man, I wish was playin the bass on this song as i would have "walked" the bass
up and down this baby!!!!
Great Jam!!!! 4-STARS!!!! ****!
You and Em are sumthin' else!!!!!!

Thanks for the listen.
Emeric: I'll send you a .mid file without the drums if you have any percussion ideas that would mesh with this piece.
Mr. Q: My encoder (Vegas Pro) has canned "genres" that can be inserted in the info file along with the title and artist. I chose "booty bass" for this one.
The vocal style I'm aiming for is Craig Wedren from Shudder to Think. I don't know if I'm up to it and I haven't got the lyrics done anyway. So ametth- you may have to fill this in for me.

Nice to hear you back.

I listened to the keyboard *** canned drums version.

You know, although I'm rooted in folk and blues and pop, I'm basically flexible, but working out a vocal for this sucker is like doing a crossword. It's like a puzzle, and keeps taking me further and further inside. Octopus two-step. If something comes up, I'll let you know of course, but I don't even come close to sounding like Shudder to Think.

Tell you what, though. I changed my phone line, dumped Real Audio, and now I can download your stuff. No conclusions to be drawn, but great days.

Mesh: thanks- I think I know what you mean about those little melodic snippets. It's basically a march with several lines weaving in and out like worms from the 5th dimension intersecting the normal space-time frame of reference.

dobro: Boy Howdy. Strange. I thought you'd be more interested in the version with acoustic guitar. (The only version at the Lycos site) I didn't get all the answers to that puzzle correct but it was just two first-take attempts 100% unarranged.

Hey Doc

Radical as ever! I did like the syncopation, but I found that the middle section was just too busy for my taste, and to add vocals over that - hmmmmmmm - I don't know. I guess I'd have to hear it. (Of course, I'm just now getting used to "Cat Brains", so what do I know?) I thought you did a pretty good job on the drums for a machine.

Mutt: the vocal ideas were meant for the sparser sections, but I still haven't reached that critical moment when I just set up a mic and hit record. Even so, as dobro pointed out, it's going to be a challenge.
Dolemite: Only two virtual snares (standard GM patches) were used. Don't recall cutting one loose while tracking the acoustic guitars.
sonusman: Thanks for checking it out. A real connection can really change your attitude about surfing the net. BTW- just finished my latest CD, "Cheating Death". Fourteen months in the making.

Doc,

Glad to see you at Lycos, seems like a pretty low bs site. Unfortunately couldn't get through will try later.

Got it!

I like this one quite a bit. You, by far have the corner on this market.

What do your cats think of this one?

For some reason, the thought of a madman rumaging through an antique store comes to mind while listening to this one.

Really glad you put your guitar on this, adds life to it.

What most of us consider busy, you call sparce

Great recording!!

Great piece!! I think your best yet.

GT
