mixing down on 840EX Roland

I have tons of music on zip disk. I would like to send it to a record label but getting a clean mixdown is holding me up. What steps should I take from beginning to end when mixing-down and can I get a good sound from just mixing down from the roland recorder itself or should I have other accessories to accompany the Roland digital recorder. I have to Roland micro-monitors that I use to listen playback of my music on.
