I figured they'd be on us soon. Good buddy of mine bought a T5 a few months back. Looks cool, plays ok...sounds damned fine as an acoustic...sounds like a hollowbodied electric as an electric, lol. Last time we gigged, he told me he wished he'd bought what I was playing for half the price (variax acoustic).

I wish them well...For $2,300 street, I'll let somebody else be the guinea pig. I can't wait to hear the reviews.

I'm pretty much as big a Taylor owner and fan as you'll find, but I wass less than impressed with my T-5 (my 5th Taylor). So I don't really have any high hopes for these. Plus they scream "DEAN" to me. http://www.deanguitars.com/summer06/soltero.htm

That Dean's proportions just seem all wrong.

And there's that headstock.

They will be (are) overpriced, just like most Taylors.

Ok I did NOT play one but...

The Indianapolis Guitar Center has two of them on display, and you CAN play them if you want....

The guy who works there that I talked with said he thought they sounded ok, but were not anything special, although the wood was stunning!

If I wanted a pretty guitar then I might bite for one of these, they seem to be along the lines of a PRS or something.... I do however tend to think my next electric guitar, if I ever buy one will be a Tele....
