Unhappy Sonar III and M Audio 2496

I hve been using sonar III producer Edition with a (santa cruiz) sound card with no problem
This card has a on bord synthizer I can record and palyback Audio and Midi tracks together

I have Just installed a (M audio2496 )sond card in anotrer pCI slot. the problen is? only my audto tracks can be heard during playback not my midi tracks. both cards are installed
I selected the M audio for playback but I cannot hear no midi tracks only audio tracks I know the audiophile is working because I can detect the difference in sound quality
my music contain both midi and audio about 5 tracks each
How do I get midi from the m audio card what did I miss out is it a connection probleem
The output from the M audio goes through a mixer to an amplifier to speakers
any help is appreciated

Try this:
Control Panel>Sounds and audio devices>Audio Tab>Midi Music Playback...
Select the M Audio card there

Good Luck!

you cant use two soundcards at the same time. you need to either send your midi to an external device or use some of the softsynths in sonar to send your midi to. The newer versions of sonar have some excellent included softsynths.
