Holy Cow! Fostex Manuals for Everything!

I haven’t been on the site for a while. They always had a lot of manuals, but not for the reel-to-reels. Now everything is there.

The A8 'user manual' is actually the service manual. Which is pretty awesome.

There is a bad link for the 4030/4035 sync/controller units, but I found it by changing the file name.

It's here:

Thanks Daniel, but kudos go to trancedental, who posted a related link in another thread that led to me finding that main link.

Being a TASCAM guy, I only own two Fostex products, so I haven't been to the Fostex site in several months. They used to only have manuals for current and more recent products.

Even if one doesn't have a Fostex deck there is some great technical info to be gleaned from some of these manuals.

Yeah, I don't own any Fostex gear but always find use for older manuals such as these.

Yeah, I had seen this a while back and thought it was super cool that they had all those manuals up for downloading. I have equally the same amount of Fostex gear that I do Tascam. I would say Tascam machines are set up "more user friendly" than most Fostex gear. Also, Tascam's parts are way easier to get. I wouldn't say one is better than the other in terms of functionality or sound quality though. I have certain Fostex units that have functions some of my Tascams don't have. And vice versa. I really am happy with the sound quality of my Fostex R8s. Also, I Have the Fostex 380S (The first 4 track using dolby S, I don't know if it's the only one that uses dolby S though) It sounds pretty damn good. Now if they could just step it up in parts availability and customer service response !!!

Sorry Guys, I should have posted the links on here before as I downloaded a manual for my E-16 almost a year back. I had trouble finding the link recently as Fostex have moved it!

Very handy instead of paying someone on EBay for a CD ROM / Download!

Found out the vintage manuals have been up since May and they keep adding, so there will be more.
