Where in NYC can I get my Teac reel to reels repaired?

There must be a place in Mahatten that specializes in older Teac reel to reel recorders and repair--I just don't know where to look. If anyone could help with some info.--I need to find somebody. Thanks so much! -Robin

Thanks--I did that. I am hoping that someone from NYC has someone good to recommend, someone that maybe isn't found online.

Hey Robin,
I'm in NYC as well, and believe it or not. There isnt much here I could find. Have you found anything?
I went to one spot (cant remember the name) around 18th and bdwy, It was very expensive, $50.00 dollars for estimate and close to 300.00 for repair. I learned from the estimate and some good friends here and Rolf @ vintagetx, that all I needed to do was replace a switch!
Recently I put up an ad on craigslist trying to find someone that could calibrate my 80-8, and got no replies.

What exactly is the problem? Maybe it's something you could fix yourself, with a little support.
Steve
