does anyone have any experience with this machine? Is it a "pro" machine...

Yes, it is definitely a "pro" machine - built like a tank with superb everything including extra heavy duty direct drive motors, electronics and tape handling. The 40 and especially the 50 series (which has a lot in common with the TASCAM ATR series) are bloody good.

I have the 42. Not sure what the difference between it and the 52 is but I know they both have better electronics than the 22 or 32. Plus xlr inputs and outputs.
The 42 uses 1/4" tape. So does the 52......I think... I believe one of the ATR half track machines uses 1/2" tape. Like cjacek said. Bloody good. |
