digi 001 as default sound playback device

Now that I have monitors (no more headphone mixes) I would like to use the digi 001 as my default playback device. However, it doesn't show up as one of my choices in the windows (XP) control panel as one of my choices. Any ideas? Thanks. BTW, I'm using PTLE 6.4

i used to use one of those,,,and admittedly had a bit of trouble with it,

you have to get a hold on a driver package before the digi001 will be supported by 3rd party apps like media player etc.

once you get that, as far as i know windows still says no default audio device, but under media player / dvd player etc menus, you can select digi 001 emulated output.

i think its digidesign wavedriver you're looking for.

be careful though, they do a standalone version for users who don't wish to use protools.

if you have the manual, there are details about the wave driver with it.
i think its meant to be on the protools cd, but in my case it wasnt.

good luck.
