Test Equipment and Tech. Archive at DZ Workshop
Hi Guys, justy to let you know.
There are two 'new' sections at Dr ZEE Workshop now. TEST EQUIPMENT: http://www.mzentertainment.com/studi...equipment.html, there are few vintage pieces of gear and couple of DIY projects and I'll be adding some more as I get time to deal with it. ******* TECH. ARCHIVE: http://www.mzentertainment.com/studi...l_archive.html , there I'll be adding things like manuals, schematics etc., what ever I may get hands on. ![]() ******** oh, and of course it's all about dead technology of the past, no stuff like flash memory stick instructional manual there. And who in the hell may need a manual for a stick to begin with? ![]() /later |

Hi, guys,
I have new project posted at test equipment section - VARIAC (0-120 VAC Variable Transformer) Project, link: http://www.mzentertainment.com/studi...nt_variac.html this shows in details (as example) how to make an eclosuer for a Powerstat Variac (type-21)(if you get one as a separate piece), and how to add output line voltage monitoring vometer, using a spare (or, say - junk ) analog meter movement (something like 0.5-1.5 mA)********** Also, this is a high voltage project, so it requires at least some basic knowledge and experience in electronics and Safety Practices ********* (In addition to having fun playing with a light bulb ), - Having a Variac is a useful thing, as example, if you are looking forward to maybe purchasing some day a 'brand new never open in the box reel-to-reel machine', basically it may be a very good idea to power it up for the first time slowly increasing the voltage. There are some other use for a variac as well if you are (or may be thinking about getting) into vintage (or just say - older) electronics/equipment.Also, it's NOT a "MUST HAVE" tool, really, imo, but this can be argued, I guess. *********** Here's a nice 'humble page' on variac (as an introduction): http://www.nmr.mgh.harvard.edu/~reese/VariacPage/ |
