Guitar instrumental mix 2

Hi again,
Been back trying to mix this instrumental as per some advice and comments I got from here. I'm terrible at this so bear with me, looking for some pointers.
It sounds a lot better than before but I've listened to it too many times at this stage... any pointers on what to impriove now?
Track is called 'Hellucination' , it's just uinder 3 mins - click my sig file to go straight to it.
Hope to hear from someone!
Thanks

Not bad.

At the beginning, the rhythm guitars sound kind of..."flat" for lack of a better term. Not really sure how to describe it.

The first bend into the song sounds kinda off and like it comes in too loud/sudden. Maybe fade it in a little. Drums sound a little like cardboard boxes, but is that right for this genre? Not bad, just seems like they're lacking.

I'm not a huge fan on this kind of music, but nice playing.

Not sure if I heard the first one, but I think you did a good job on mixing this. Can't really pick out anything wrong with that.

Sounds like some Michael Angelo stuff.

i can't wait to hear the remix. i'll comment on both sites when i get time.

this is a great piece! good mix, awesome tones on both rhythm and lead. Hate the drums (programmed drums = mad cholo, but I understand the need ), that being said, they are mixed/programmed very well.

good job sir.

Playing and tone on the guitar is perfect. Drums are well written are fit the genre but a live drummer would really kick this up. Hard to find one though!!
Overal = Super Cool.....

Great song and awesome playing.

However....I took some time last night, to have a listen to your stuff again and Angels is some very emotional playing...love it.

Hey thanks for checking out my stuff guys, I really appreciate it. Sorry for not getting back quicker, my wife had a baby girl since I typed this post

Anyway, I hear everyone re the drums - I was using EZdrummer DFH... anyone have any tips on how to make the kit sound meatier and more ballsy? I have a UAD-1 card so I can apply those plugs... when it comes to drums I have less of a clue than mixing guitars so ANY tips would be cool.
Thanks again!

True-eurt: thanks for the comments on Angels, I wrote that for my baby girls... nwo I have another I will have to write another 'emotive' piece!

You are welkom Superhuman.

I didn't pay attention to the comment you had written, until the song was almost over. Reading that, gave it even more of an emotional feel...I had to listen a few times. It had a button for download but I could not get it to work.

Congratulations on your newest baby girl and I will be looking forward to a new piece.

i always thought your drum tracks sound pretty good. they're a hellofa lot beter than mine. =/ =] i do find that dropping a 10 band graphic eq into the drum channel and tweaking the drum tone makes a huge difference...something i just started doing.

Very nice playing and nice music. I like it all except the drum sound. Energetic music, sounds like sports music a la something that would be on a sports documentary.

Yeah, dont use EZdrummer DFH. I have it too and really dont like it. I prefer the sounds that come with EZdrummer, and perhaps using only the patterns that come with the DFH expansion. Or try the mixer and get more room sound, try the "roomy" default preset.
