Much of what you say is true, but like people there's some varience based on living conditions and personality.

BTW, much of their hunting desire is instinct but the act of hunting is learned and practiced. They're not like insects or fish, which seem to pretty much be adults right from birth.

I know they rub because there's pleasure in it (they're extra sensitive behind their whiskers and under their ears where the scent galnds are (which encourages their rubbing)), so there must be some pleasure/reward for laying in the sun like they do. I wonder what exactly it is.
