Latency issues

Any of you guys n gals experiencing any problems with latancy?

My card is telling me 5ms @256samples, but I'm clearly hearing closer to 12-15ms. I know the first questions are going to be how many tracks/plugs ins/cpu etc but I'm not running it near as hard as my cubase tracks and REAPER is only telling me I'm using 50%+/-

what latency shows, and the actual round trip latency are two different things. Look for the round trip latency thread in the recording section of the general forum and download CEntrance LTU.

Presonus for example have a pretty large "safety buffer" that is added to the latency time you specify

Strange thing though


I downloaded and tried the software you recommended to check and it produced the exact result (give or take) to what the MAudio software was showing.

So I scratched my head

then reloaded the same project into REAPER that had been giving me trouble the last two days.


and now its perfectly fine

I'm not sure what the deal was. I haven't rebooted the pc or anything, and everything was as it was. I have restarted REAPER a few times and it was the same. I guess it was just a strange anomaly.

Its good now so I guess I better get back to rocking.
