Does anyone here work at a chrome plating shop?
I have a few pedals I'm building and was wondering how much it would be to dip them.

I think it's an expensive multi-step process where it has to be nickel plated, then copper plated, and then chrome plated.

![]() I have worked in metal finishing for 20 years. The charge will most likely be a minimum charge. Usually it's around $200 here in the LA area. If you can deal with sending a large lot at once you'll be better off. There is usually a local metal finishers association in your area. They can let you know who does small non production runs. The one problem you might run into is the fact that most pedal inclosers are diecast. That is a difficult process if they don't have an electroless copper. It can be done with a copper cyanide strike but the reject rate and rework costs will kill ya.
