Mine's a PCMCIA (laptop card) not a PCI card so I can't help you there but....
This place has tons of them to choose from, I only picked this particular one to show you because it's the same make ("ADS Pyro") as my card and I have no problems with it and my Alesis io26. http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...7959&CatId=510 Anything I've ever ordered from these guy's has been trouble free and here faster than what I'd expect. |

I've been reading the manual, can't see where you can set Reaper back to factory settings; I'm sure I will screw something up and need to get back to default!

start\programs\reaper\reaper(reset configuration to factory default)
If that doesnt work: delete the reaper.ini file, which is usually in C;\documents and settings\username\application data then reinstall reaper

Most audio interface manufacters tell you to STAY AWAY from combo USB/Firewire cards.
Also, try to get Texas Instruments or Lucent firewire chipsets. Most manufacturers demand it. ALWAYS check with the interface manufacturer before you buy to make sure you get something that is compatible; this is NOT the time to cheap out..... ----------------------------------------- Been using a Motu828mkII daisy-chained to a Glyph firewire drive on my XP laptop for over a year with ZERO problems.... |

Just chiming in to support what has already been said:
1. Avoid combo cards. 2. Go with a TI chipset. I think I got mine from TigerDirect, and it was $15 or $20. Still much better than $40+ but worth the extra few bucks over the ebay one to know it should work well. |
