need some help with improving drum recording

Hello,

I'm looking for good settings for this drumtrack. I recorded the track using 2 rode NTK microphones. It sounds quiet good, but I'm wondering if somebody could improve it using equaliser, dynamics or reverb. I need some better settings.

Thanks folks!

Location: I hit a live electric bass repeatedly with a maraca, so I needed to mic the maraca and the bass amp at the same time.

um, rat? (thought I'd at least give u a 'bump')
you recorded that with 2 mics?
Sounds pretty darn fine ...but sounds more like it's from a 'loop'/sample to me.
So, I would suggest that you continue recording the rest of the tracks, therefore you will start to hear/see the drums in 'context' and see how it fits within the mix.
There's no point in eq'ing/fx'ing those drums just yet,..just see how it fits in the mix after you've done more with your song/production.
But Rat, I just don't believe you've recorded those drums!!
Not trying to be rude or anything!!!
Cheers,
spit.

I can prove to you I recorded this myself because I can take out a drumsample where everything goes wrong. But is there really nobody who can make it sound more dynamic or can add a nice reverb to it?

The clip is really too short to do much with. Dynamics come from playing. So that's mostly up to the drummer. It already sounds like it has some dynamics though.

Maybe post a longer clip? And really, unless this is a drum solo or something then trying to add reverb, EQ, compression, etc., could just make it sound terrible in the context of a mix with other instruments.

I added a little reverb, and it's probably too much but like I said, I'd have to hear it in a mix to know how much to add. It does add a nice "polish" to the sound though.
