scotchnmusic is on a distinguished road
Attn: Tascam Users!

Hey everyone! I'm new here to this forum, but not new to home recording. I have a Tascam 2488. I'm pretty much old school, and I either record direct/or miced.(depending on my sound or mood) I'm a drummer/guitarist/bassist. My main influence is prog rock/jazz fusion. I'd be interested to hear from other Tascam users, and how you record your tracks. Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated, and I'm looking forward to hangin here with everyone! SHIT!!! My icecubes are melting, and I need another Dewars! LOL. CHEERS!!!!!

demirateser can only hope to improve
I have used it to record live. I use it to record midi tracks directly into channel strips then add my drums and my bro adds his bass. I use external effect boxes to add sauce using each channel's pre-fade effect out? I bounce effect onto other channels. I will sometimes use the onboard fx, and eq if I need to perform quick-n-dirty demos, etc.

However, currently my 2488 locks up and I've tried everything. I hope yours works for you since the design is fabulous. However, the implementation was horrible at best. Again, its an incredible piece of equipment - when it works.
