Hiring someone to code my website?
If i graphically designed the whole of my website in illustrator and then hired someone to code it for me, what ballpark figure would i be looking at paying?
The website would be something like............. News About Contact Music (where you can stream the music tracks and download them for free) Video (same as above) I found an auction site where people bid for your project here, looks pretty good, anyone have any experience with it? cheers

Again, it all depends on what you want, and how complex your site is, and what you're willing to pay and what the coder is willing to charge.

do it all yourself! I did, and I'm 18, and have no training besides using an html code book as my guide, it's really easy to catch onto. I even used a free software to do all the graphic arts, and I think it turned out very satisfactory.
ollertonmusic.com that's my site. I think it looks pretty good and I think it's a good example of what someone with no prior coding expirience whatsoever is capable of. If you want to use Java or Iframes or flash, THEN I would hire someone. But HTML and even stuff like CSS is pretty easy. If all else fails, do some googling for some pre-made code. my 2 cents Russell |

If you just want static pages that you have to manually update yourself every time you add content, songs, etc., then yeah, learn some HTML and do it yourself.
If you want a dynamic, database-driven website that allows you to just post blog entries without typing all the HTML, or file upload a song and make it available for stream/download automatically (without manually updating a playlist file or logging into an FTP server), then you will want someone experienced in HTML/CSS and PHP/MySQL. I make websites and could do it for you for a good price if you let me know what your budget is or about how much you're willing to spend. I've made a couple other sites for friends and they have their own admin panels, all they have to do is login to that, from there they can add a blog/news entry, manage songs, write a newsletter, etc, without having to know any HTML or anything. |

I'll do it for credit at the bottom of each page... ie: Designed by (My Real name)
PM Me and I'll e-mail you a couple exaples of my web work... (Nothings online, but I'm played with a LOT of ideas for myself etc...) but if you're doing it in illustrator then most of the hard stuff is already done ... either way... lemme know if yer interested... worse case you don't like it you don't use it... - Tanlith - Quote:
