The cat, not me.

She's started to do this occasionally even though her litter box is kept clean. I think it's kind of cool; my wife disagrees.

Now if I can get her to crap in the toilet...

Keep an eye out for blood in the urine.
Sometimes cats will choose strange places to pee when they have bladder infections. I think it is more common for male cats than female cats to suffer from said cystitis however.
Sometimes they just pick strange places to pee.

All of the above with the caveat that the presence of blood is not always present in a UT or bladder infection.
