Need Help With My Setup!!!

I have a AKG Perception 200, Phonic MM1002a Mixer, and a M-Audiophile 2496...I currently have my recording input from my mixer plugged up to the ins on the 2496...and the 2t rtn plugged up to the output of the 2496...I record with Cool Edit Pro...When I record its plays the beat gets recorded the vocals....

I was wondering how can i get everything working right...

Hello,
I am not quite sure that I understood correctly your problem
What do you mean by " 2t rtn plugged up to the output of the 2496" What beats? Metronome in CEP? Some imported loops?
Tell me what you are intending to do and how do you connect your gear and I’ll help you.

Thats the picture of my mixer...I have the 2t rtn rcas into the output of the audiophile...and the rec rcas in the input of the audiophile...

I'm not having that problem no more...it's just now when I record my vocals are two low...I have the main l/r analog to where it controls the level of my recording...it is set to 0db...I have the level on the microphone all the way to 10 with no gain...it should be sounding normal but its way too low...

Mic volume on 10 seams to be way too much.
That's not the right way to do it. Something is missing here!

Have you adjusted GAIN on mic-input?
There is a peak led indicator which helps you to do it correctly.
Your phantom power must be on but you know that otherwise your condenser mic wouldn’t work at all.
Have you adjusted output on your mixer?
What about input signal on your card?
You should have faders on your audio driver software for each input.
You said it is vocal only which is low.
How do you record drums, bass etc? Does it go through your mixer too?

Anyway all those adjustments are to be done on your mixer and on audio card control panel.

Cool Edit only needs to know where to record which input,

For an example:
track 1 Left = Delta 1
track 2 left =Delta 2
track 3 Stereo =Delta ¾
etc…..

It is possible that your problem is input sensitivity. What that means is that the output of the mixer RCA record is -10dBV (a weak signal,) and the analog input on the 2496 is expecting +4dBV (a strong signal.) Try getting some jack adapters and use the MAIN L/R mixer output instead of the RECORD outputs.

Good luck,
RawDepth
