System Freeze on Mixdown
Hi there.
I'm trying to do a mixdown of a very simple recording. 4 tracks recorded live, the show lasting 30 minutes. CEP freezes whenever I choose to make a mixdown, either to a seperate file or as a bounced track to Track 5. I have lots of system resources avaliable. CPU is about 85% free when I want to mix, and I have 10 GB of hard drive space, more than enough to save the file. I've even tried to mix each song seperately for final editing later, but again, system freeze upon mixdiown. What can I do here. Thank you in advance. |

4, 30 minute tracks is quite a long time. How long did you give CEP before deciding it was frozen?
How fast/what kind of CPU do you have? How much RAM? What speed hard drive? Are there any effects on the tracks? What sample-rate/bit-depth are you recording at? (ie: 44100/16-bit) Sometimes, at the start of mixdown, it can appear to "freeze" because it has to calculate the total time remaining to process the mixdown. Not to mention, temporary files it has to build for the mixdown before it starts. This is Adobe Audition? Or before Adobe bought it (still CEP)? If all else fails, re-install CEP. 10GB free hard drive space is less than ideal for recording, but it should still work. Maybe even a checkdisk (command prompt -> chkdsk /f) and defrag are in order. |
