Akai GX-266D

Hi,
I have a chance to buy a "pristine" Akai GX-266D.
I really don't know anything about this reel-to-reel.

Any comments?

Thanks!

I used to have a GX-260 and it sucked. The tape path wasn't as good as the older 4000ds models. It wasn't very solid built either. And those glass heads were the worst part of it, even though didn't see much use, but sounded flimsy. I wouldn't recommend it. Try the Akai 4000DS or DB, or a Revox A77/B77. That's a nice reel deck.

Thanks for the input, I

currently have
Tascam 38
Tascam 48
and a
Rexox A77,
just wondering about this deck though.

As I said earlier, it is in mint condition w/plexi-cover etc.
Original box and manual too.

Again, thanks,
Randal

If I remember correctly, the line-out on that machine is regulated by the Volume knob, which I didn't like.
