Hotel California (Acoustic) Percussion?

I don't know shit about drums.

I'm wanting to do my own version of this song but I'm not sure what kind of drum samples I should be looking for? What kind of percussion/kit was used in this, anyone know?

It's the live (acoustic) version of Hotel California.

I saw them live but can't say for sure. It might be a sequenced percussion loop. By memory, I'd say you need congas, bongos, some kind of cabasa or shaker and a few other standard percussion instruments.

don't listen to him, he's leading you astray

he had a pedal on his foot triggering a kick type sound in the Hell Freases Over DVD along with congas & (I think) some sort of percussive loop going on lightly in the background

but yeah I'd say you need congas, bongos, some kind of cabasa or shaker and a few other standard percussion instruments.....see stick with me & I'll see ya right, RAMI haha

hehe I'll be expecting the hit men later RAMI huh........................

Right on the money.

The percussionist/drummer for that tour was my (then) neighbor, Scott Craigo.

Basically just congas, bongos and a shaker.

Haha!!!! Read Phil's post, baby!!!! He knows what's going on.

(That was a wild guess on my part as far as the percussion is concerned.... )

Thanks for the info.

Guess I need to start looking for congas, bongos, some kind of cabasa or shaker and a few other standard percussion instruments samples.

Actually, Phil just confirmed that all you need are the bongos, congas and a shaker. Any percussion patch will have that.

Yeah. I just recently bought EZDrummer again (after selling it) but it doesn't seem to be working too well for that song.

It's okay though, I can find samples no problem (looking through http://freesound.iua.upf.edu/ now) so long as I know *what* to search for.

Lies my ass!

Scott sold me his old kit when I moved here many many years ago! I watched the whole Eagles reunion in awe of the guy!
