Tascam488 Question

I am playing with the idea of buying a 488. I have owned several multitrackers (414, vs-840, and currently fostex mr-8). My question is: can you route the mixer chanels to different tracks on the 488? for example: if I want to use the phantom power on channels 1 and 2, can I route them to other tracks, or am I stuck with recording with channels 1 and 2?

I like the idea of simplifying my studio. Please feel free to add any general reflections regarding the quality of this unit compared with digital recorders. I am wondering if the Tascam414 nostalgia of my teens is catching up to me!

Thanks in advance!

Blake.

Arrow Yes.

You can route any channel to any track.
