As you have done for years now you're setting up straw men... you're answering arguments that I have not made. Right, 2" has nothing to do with the RMGI shedding issue and you know that's not what I was referring to. You know that I was alluding to a long-standing perception by the older members here concerning your gear snobbery, specifically your MCI JH 24 2", which you may or may not really own or use. In the past the 2" was the centerpiece of your unwarranted attacks on members that used, in your words "Skinny tracks" and your justification for presenting yourself here as an "Expert."

Secondly, you are trying to appear to be telling me something you know I already know about how tape is made, when whatever you know about tape manufacturing you have learned from me, or Ghost, or Daniel, or someone else here.

You are also using another common dirty fighting technique by linking my genuine dislike for you with a dislike for RMGI tape. You do this to make it appear it is Beck against MCI2424/RMGI rather than having to stand on your own merits. In doing so you have misconstrued my concerns about RMGI to mean that I want to, in your words "Kill RMGI." When in fact, at the core of my stated concern about RMGIs managerial missteps is that they would kill themselves and leave us without a tape manufacturer, just as Quantegy did. I clearly stated this when I voiced my apprehension about RMGIs sudden and inexplicable price increase.

You have implied above that I have somehow confused the sticky RMGI issue with the AMPEX 456 sticky-shed issue. Again, you are putting words in my mouth I have never said.

You also stated above that I am pointing people to old, abused tape on eBay, when you know that it was I that initiated and continue to maintain the "Sticky Shed Tape Thread" to help people avoid bad tape on eBay.

Your characterization of me is totally contrived and completely baseless... the last desperate thrashing of a drowning troll.

I, for one, would like to know who these, "plenty of", people are. Can you substantiate your allegations? I personally have never, ever seen Tim (Beck) behave in a manner you describe. I had 2 accounts both banned. One a joke and the other not.

I think what really frosts people is the Tascam is Bad, MCI etc is good attitude that you have. I see that as the start of most of the friction with you. Most everyone knows that a 1/2 track JH-110 is a very fine machine and that in new condition it sounds better than a new Tascam 32. Same for an 8 track MCI and a 38. They also know that the 32 can be bought for half the cost and 1/3 the maint costs and that one person can pick the 32 up and carry it up a flight of stairs.

What becomes more fuzzy is putting a realworld JH-110 2T up next to a BR-20. Both are very fine machines. And I can carry my BR-20 into the church where I want to record the organ. Which is better? Ask my back!

Your confrontational attitude and vendetta against Beck is the other area that you should think about.

I would rather have the name calling stop and that you become a part of the discussion rather than the badboy. And for goodness sake, fully professional results means of the highest standards. There is no need to quibble that unless you have a bone to pick.

The ball is not "in my court' as I have nothiong to prove. I have never harassed and chased someone off this or any other BBS.

You just refuse to read the shameful display that I provided the link to. I have never said that all TASCAM sucks or anything else. I have Fostex E-16s and an MCI24 track machine and the 2 are totally different and both have their strong and weak points.
