Red face Brand new here! Please take a look at my set up, I am very excited to be joining!

Hey!

My name is Matt, I'm 26 and from Philly, and I've been a professional musician since I was about 21. I've spent a good deal of time in the studio, but am only now attempting to build a somewhat-decent home studio with a limited budget. This is what I currently have.

- AKG Perception 200 Condenser Mic
- SM 57's

Platform: PC/WinXP Pro
- SoundBlaster Audigy II
- Cubase SX3
- Amplitube 2
- Mogami 1/4" instrument cables
- EZdrummer w/ drum kit from hell and vintage kits
- An army of good guitars.
- Roland Keyboard

I know the sound card isn't ideal, but like I said, I'm on a bit of a budget. I plan on buying a small vocal pre-amp (probably a Behringer MIC200 Ultragain), some mogami XLR cable. I'm also converting a mid-sized closet to an isolation booth and sound-proofing it.

From the pre-amp to my sound card, I assume I use instrument cable as opposed to speaker cable?

I look forward to being a part of this community!

matt

Yo "X."

Bring all your enthusiasm into the forum; it will at somepoint, be a great asset to others wanting to learn the dials, switches, cables, mics, reverbs, pres, reflections, conjectures, and how-to-do-its.

A step at a time....

Welcome.
