Arrow Mixer problem

ok heres the thing.........

I only have two mics, with a preamp that has 2 XLR inputs .........ANYWAYS

I need to record drums, and I'm planning to (eventually) buy a drum mic kit or somthing.......

With all those mics I need alot of inputs, so don't I need a mixer with alot of inputs?

Well, I would only need 4 so its not like I need 5 million inputs.

It needs to be hooked up to my laptop, so wouldn't I need a USB? BUT I read somwhere that when you have a usb, you can only record 2 at a time (when you pan to the left and right) So I would need a firewire mixer right???.

So confused

please help!!!

thanks ALOT!!!!!!!

digital signal processing?

that just means you get cheesy effects like reverb and delay

that mixer would do stereo into usb and would be all you need. you could plug all your mics into that.

you could get some decent results from that and a mic kit im sure

you dont really need that many mics to get a good sound though. one large condenser mic out in front of the kit can pick up everything and yield very pleasant sounds

i think a lot of great records have been done that way

it just depends on what kind of sound you want
