score on rock wool (maybe????)

someone was having a yard sale in my neighbor hood and one of the things they had on the lawn was.......
rock wool? condensed fiberglass?
who knows.

therein lies the problem.
screw it, i bought some at 50 cents for each 4*8 piece, i'll take it to the dump later, but i have no idea what it is.

it's rock wool, condensed fiberglass of soooooome sort, but even they didn't know the maker or the model.

is there any way to tell that stuff apart?
what the hell is this crap i just spent .0625 cents a square foot on?

Lets see some pics. Is it semi rigid? Can you measure its performance at all? Does it absorb well? Sounds good whatever it is, for that price.

Should be quite similar. I will try that when i get the studio finished, if i get the studio finished, haha.

anyways, at that price you may as well buy some cheap fabric and wrap the stuff up. throw another $10 it, and if it still doesn't work, well what've you lost? not very much that's what.

I'd break a piece off and see if it burns easily... You're probably fine, but before I put it up around my expensive gear, I'd want to be certain ya know?
