VS 840 Sync

I have a bit of a question that I hope someone can help me with. I`ve been asked to do a recording in which the group want me to sync up two VS 840 DAW`s. Easy enough, the only problem they were bought second hand & nobody owns an operators manual. Can anybody give me a breif outline explaining whats steps need to be taken in the set up process as well as what cables & so on are required?
I`m assuming the protocal used is MTC or MMC but I might be wrong.

It's not possible to sync two VS-840 to each other since one must be slave.
840 must be master and the only solution is to sync a VS-880 to it.
