Acoustic blankets..? Help!

I was about to order some auralex foam for my studio that I just finished when I ran across these http://cgi.ebay.com/Sound-Proofing-H...QQcmdZViewItem . What is your take on this product. It says they are rated better than aurlex. The positive thing that I see is that you can take them down and put them up very easily to change the sound of your room. I have an 11' by 9' tracking room. please help!!!!!

Anyone who claims that absorption materials will lower your volume is LYING to you right off the bat.

Your best "bang for buck" for absorption (which is used to make your space sound BETTER, not QUIETER) is rockwool, mineral wool, or semi-rigid fiberglass insulation that's UN-faced and 3 or 4" thick, 3 PCF (Pounds per Cubic Foot) density. It's cheaper and more efficient than ANY foam, it's fireproof, and it'll go further toward making a room sound even than anything else. You can buy or make cloth bags to contain it/beautify it/hang it.

Do a search here for 703, rockwool, fiberglass and any other term mentioned above; there's a ton of discussion here on the subject. Read for a day or two and you should get a good idea of what to do with the stuff once you find it.

Stateside there's a chain called SPI that handles this type of insulation -

Other similar products from Knauf, Spinglas from JohnsManville, Roxul... Steve

When you consider for just a little more than that price you can buy a whole bale of 703 fiberglass or equal it is clearly not a good deal even if it worked, which I too doubt.

Agreed. Stick with something known. It's also terribly convenient that their link to their 'test data' is broken....
