Shipping guitar to France
If I have my sister send me a new guitar here from the U.S. marked as "Gift Package", will I still be charged the high custom/duty fees? The last time I paid over 700 Euros to customs & I want to avoid that this time.

If they find out that the gift exceeds the limit (I don't know what the limit is), then you will be charged tax on the guitar and on the shipping. Also an import duty too.
The items are subjected to random tests in Europe. A guitar shaped/sized package will look expensive, so it will probably be checked.

having stuff send from the us to europe is allways somewhat of a gamble.
no matter what you put on the box and no matter what's inside it all comes down a customs officer dicision.
