...yeah, I already own 2 SX guitars...great for the price, but they're currently backordered on the short scale P bass until the fall (as per Kurt)...looking for something used and under $100...

....hmmm...I've been tempted to sell my short-scale Cort, in favor of a Mustang, or a fretless.....

....but I'd have to sell it to you five or six times for the money I'd need to make that work.....

....good luck though.... I love the short scales....

Look up a Kent bass on ebay. Japanese 60s basses, I've owned a pair. They play well, the wood is fantastic and the electronics are at least fair (probably better than any new $200 bass today).

...the word must be out, 'cause the Kent bases are bringing higher prices...there are some newer Chinese brands being manufactured by Sejung Corp.(a Korean owned company that grew out of Samick and now own's the world's largest Piano/Guitar manufacturing plant in China)...word is that the quality is quite good (better than Epi or Squire) due to the use of computer controlled lathes...probably making the SX guitar/bass line for Rondo...they make Canvas, S101 and dozens of other brands in the lower price categories...
...I've seen J.Reynolds and Hondo short scale basses going for less than $100 used...more in my price range...
...I lent my OLP MM5 5-string bass to my girlfriend (she's learning bass) but it's a bit big & heavy for her, so I thought a short-scale would be better for learning the basics...
