I have used the Alesis SR-16 for the last few years. I have become quite comfortable with it and am very pleased with the sound quality and "natural" voices that it has. I do all of my MIDI triggering through my recording software, so, to me, the internal song creation and memory is a headache. My best advice to you though, would be to try them out. Take a whole day, it'll be worth it later.
