Computer Crash
Hey all I know this is a vague question but generally what causes a computer to crash when running Cubase? It's happened me twice lately.

Very vague. Could be a bad plugin - If you've installed any new ones recently, try removing them and see if that fixes it.

Hi Scrubs, I know it's very very vague and I apologise. I'm trying to check for new drivers from Native Instruments for their guitar combos plug-in but I need a registration code - I don't remember it but I've sent them an e mail.

Need to find a common connection with all the times it has crashed. What were you doing at the time? What do all those instances have in common? Have you been using the same plugins each time?
Do you get any messages at all, or does the computer freeze up? BSOD? or does Cubase just crash to windows etc etc. Also, check your Synchrosoft License Control software and make sure you have the latest version. That had me baffled for hours once.

Other than that, Telepaul, I would also check out the plugs. Especially if you got some off of KVR, they may have bugs that cause some crappy end results... ![]() |

I've discovered what plug it is but there are no updates for it - it's a Native Instruments modeller so I was surprised it was causing a screw-up. I hit up the native instruments forum for some advice but I'm kinda bummed, it's a good sound.

If you are using a PC. If you don't already have it, download the small program msconfig and put it in the root on C:. You can put it wherever you want actually...
Run it and disable auto start programs you don't need to have running in the background after starting the computer. This will give you a more stable and faster machine. Don't know if it helps with your Cubase problems though. Hans |
