Thinking of getting an Yngwie strat

Anyone ever play one? I have a warmoth strat with a scalloped neck. It's cool, but I was thinking of getting a Japan Yngwie model by Fender

I've never played on a scalloped neck. I think I'd tend to pull all the notes sharp because I'm accustomed to being able to be heavy-handed on the fretboard.

According to the Fender web site, that "yellow" is actually "Vintage White."

It also comes in Candy Apple Red and Sonic Blue.

Yes, I've played one. They are very nice.

same for me, I've always had a pretty heavy left hand, and I'd probably sound like crap on one of these

I have a scalloped neck guitar. It's not the case that you will go sharp with a heavy left. What this does it makes vibrato easier because you can really dig under the string and grip them because there's no resistance from the board. However, the lack of resistance doesn't mean you will be pressing down too hard and sharpening the notes, unless you play VERY light gauge strings.

I'm a heavy lefty too. I can only imagine the wear I'd put my frets through without a fretboard to stop the grinding.

Stainless frets would be a must for me. I've converted a couple guitars now and really like it. A slight brightness but that's about it.
