ok ths is the setup i have opted for, my boss br532 as a medium for recording onto, cubase for adding any eq, effects wotnot, a berhinger phantom power supply to operate the new mic i am getting which is most likely gonna be a samson c03 omni.

i then aim to record my vocals and guitar on the same mic simoultaneously onto one track, reason being as i think it will sound rather cool in an amateurish, raw way.

is this way of recording still used? (one mic in a room), will it work well with an omni???, will its sound better if i record vox and guitar seperate.

does anyone use the samson c03, it has got some pretty decent reviews.

I might consider 2 mics, even if you track vocals and git at the same time. That would give you the freedom to not have to worry about the perfect mix as you're playing, but still wouldn't sacrifice the live feel. One mic aimed at your voice, and one at your guitar. After the fact you can mix to taste. If you see any videos of Dylan, Cat Stevens, or any of those folk dudes, that's a pretty common scheme. With your proposed sitch, if your guitar is slightly too loud (or way too loud) (or quiet), you'll have to scrap it and start over. And think about how you will feel if that's the case after you've just belt out your most emotional awesome take ever.
