Do you have a project open? You might need to add an audio track and highlight it first. I dunno. I've never had it not be available.

Just open the project. Then go to "my computer" - go to the folder containing the audio, and drag and drop it in.

I dunno whether LE and SX are similar in this respect, but in SX, to import audio files, you press ctrl+p to open the pool window, then import the file into the audio pool using the relevant butons at the top of the pool window. Then once it's in the pool, drag it from the pool to the place you want on the sequencer.

I hooked up my lexicon omega today...that was the problem I guess. Cubase dosen't seem to work right when it's not hooked up.
Everything that wasn't highlighted was highlighted when I hooked up the Omega. I pretty much figured everything I needed to know to record a session ... except how to use the cubase effects (like the compressor) when tracking. I figured out how to use the effects on tracks that have already been recorded...but couldn't figure out how to use them when tracking. |

No need for pool in SX, just create a new project and the import will work as expected

Software compressors for tracking are useless. The signal is already clipped before it hits the comp anyway.........
