better than an MPC, Motif, Triton, or Fantom!!! What could it be!?!?

Well, I just got an Ensoniq Mirage for $40 that came with about 30 sample disks. This thing is really a hoot, and I've found some quite usable sounds on the disks. Especially the lofi drum samples. And some of the strings actually sound really good. Programming is about as difficult as a $50 Casio too. I'm having some fun with this thing, that's for sure. I'm working on a few songs which the Mirage will be the only instrument used.

I think I may even sample in vocal parts one lyric (that's about the maximum sample length!) at a time to disks and sequence it out so that all of the parts will be done on the Mirage. (besides Ableton for sequencing) Kinda tedious, but a good waste of time. Sort of a tribute to old school sampling.

Definately a good waste of not too much money. And if you've seen my other posts around on the forums I'm also looking for sample disks for this bad boy. $1/disk. Let me at them!
