On a Tascam Porta02, will using a type 1 tape be noisier than a type 2?

Yes,...
and the EQ will be off so it will sound harsher.

Yeah, but...
the Porta 02 not having NR will sound overall a bit hissy, compared to other Portastudios with dbx NR.
