OT. keyboard repair

i just wanted to tell peeps this....i have an alesis qs7 that i've had since 95 and the display went out on it because of a power surge i had in my house a month ago. well i call alesis and they were like "you're gonna have to send it to us because there are no authorized repair shops there where you live " well im talking to a rep in a sam ash and he gives me the number of a guy in town who repairs keyboards, but as i drove to the guys place it said he fixed everything but alesis so i went in anyways. not only did he say he could fix it, he had an extra alesis qs7 display board at his shop that he ordered and the person never came to get. what are the chances of that happening?

i never understood why but for some reason alesis doen't like feild repair guys... i used to do crown/qsc/korg/marshal/boogie/fender/roland/hammond/soundcraft/allen and heath/yamamhaha /fender and others... but we couldn't get alesis for some reason.... anyhow glad it's working...
