dp-01 fx/cd won't read some .wav files

i wouldn't normally bother ppl w/ chit like this, but its a last resort as i feel i've tried everything. this tascam (dp-01 fx/cd) reads only mono .wav files. i've been transfering beats on cd, but there's a few it never reads. they were converted from stereo .wav (some cases mp3) into mono .wav files in acid pro 4.0. i also did it in audacity. tried different versions but the dp won't read the data cd even though they mono .wav? what'a guan? anyone ever encountered this problem?

They have to be mono, 44.1, 16-bit using the 8.3 filename (eight standard characters, followed by '.wav') convention.

So 'My_funky_beats.wav' won't work, but 'funkybts.wav' should.

I know it's now the same machine, but I have a 2488mkII, and I read in the manual that it only accepts mono wave files, but do the other stipulations you mentioned also apply to me such as the 44.1/16 and the 8.3 naming convention??? Thanks.

The 2488 should also accept 24-bit. Otherwise, all the other restrictions are the same. I don't think you can import a 24-bit .wav file into a 16-bit song, however.
