Help! Which budget monitors to get???

I'm looking for some help with a decision...
I've a budget of about €300 for nearfield monitors, been reading and reading on the web.. But can't decide..

Which would people choose between these 2:

Tannoy Reveal 5A Powered Monitors €300 through Dolphin UK
http://www.dolphinmusic.co.uk/page/s...roduct_id/6425

Yamaha HS50M, active 2-way monitor €320 for pair through thomann
http://www.thomann.de/ie/yamaha_hs50m.htm

Any other recommendations??
Any help appreciated!
Aidan..

I have experience with the M-Audio bx5's and the event 20/20 v2's.
I like the Events a lot, but my range of comparison is limited.

Is there any place where you can try monitors out with different CD's to see which translation you like better?

I use the Yamaha HS50s and they work really good for me!! Although they don't sound "nice" the way one is used to from ones Hifi-speakers they are very "honest" as they display the sound like it really is, similar to the legendary NS10s!!

I like my KRK RP-5s. Maybe go bigger if ya got more cash. Maybe go with one of your suggestions if ya got less

Try the search function - this question has been asked quite a lot recently.

...if you can check them out, the Samson Resolv 80a actives are quite good for the money. They have a good soundstage and dynamic range, and are not, as far as I can tell, fatiguing (I use them for both mixing and for my home theatre.)

Best,
C.
