...Most excellent advice on complimenting drum machines with
additional percussive instruments like a 16 or 18" Crash or
Ride cymbals.Tamborines,cowbells etc can lend a bit more
"realism" when using "canned drums"! Thx man,most excellent tip!!!!

Thanks Q. It wasn't until I got decent mics(AT4033 and Audix OM2) that I started adding the hand percussion and cymbals. It's made a lot of difference in my demos. I play with a good drummer now but I still do a lot with drum samples from a Korg 01/W and Yamaha RX5 drum machine.
