"Hallow Way" - Crosby Stills Watts Benko and Sons

Here's a classic rock inspired tune. Lyrics are below. Feedback is always used, welcome, and greatly appreciated!

I realize there's a couple minor issues with the vocals, but overall it's a strong track. Scott lives 3,000 miles away so getting things tightened down isn't an easy feat. These recordings are pretty time consuming as it is, so I will not likely be able to get him to retrack the 2 sections where he is slightly off-pitch.

"Hallow Way" by Scott Watts

Hallow way
It pulls me down
Run away
From sound to sound

There’s nothing here for me to stay
I scold my heart and run away

Is this the hallow way
Am I bending to the shame?

I want more
Than trees in the crowd
Moving towards
Refugees in the round

There’s nothing more for me to say
I scold my heart and run away

Is this the hallow way
Or is it you that I can blame?

Hallow way

Looking up
Memories crashing down
Serving suits
Buries me in the ground

There’s nothing left for me to play
I scold my heart and run away

Is this the hallow way
Am I losing to this game

We rerecorded several sections of vocals. Mix is solid. Not sure what, if anything, else needs to be done. Looking for suggestions.

Is classic rock out of style? lol

But seriously, this isn't some boring 2 riff sing along! I wouldn't waste either of our time. I could use some feedback and I know many of the regulars here will enjoy this.

Sounds pretty good man...the beginning is sparse, and I almost said it needs something, but when it builds in, it sounds a lot better. The electric guitar could be upfront a little more, and maybe cut some of the verb on it. It sounds like it's in a different room. The tone seems just fine for this tune, I'd just like to hear it a bit drier.

No real nits, just those few small things I might do different if it was my song...you may not.

The basis is really cool....some nice sounds, and it fits pretty well together. Very enjoyable tune.

Yeah I agree with Dogman, and I think the vocals are little too up front. otherwise its a good song. Definitely has that classic-rock feel to it.

Thanks for the listen and tips guys .

I have the original of each take so maybe I'll see if removing the reverb on the lead will afford me to bring it more front. In its current state it doesn't fit if it's any louder.

Not sure about the vocals. It's tough mixing 2-4 harmony/vocal parts. I may want to address that part of the mix one more time too.
