Harvest Moon

One guitar and vocal is all that I recorded so far. I wasn’t exactly sober when I hit that RED button.

Anyone interested in collaborating on this?

60's...I can't offer anything colloboration-wise, but that is a beautiful version. I prefer to listen to your voice, actually. I like the key you're playing it in and your take on the arrangement and vocal delivery.....Really beautiful.

Nice sounds man....what else would you add?
I'm on headphones right now, but you seem to have really good balance between the guitar and vox. Nice job on both accounts.

I think this is one of those tunes that sounds good sparse....that's what gives it the drama it has.

I guess I could crank my amp up, and lay down some killer feedback or something.....

I would say don't change it at all...but that's just my opinion.

I'm with everyone else, this delivery really has something to it. Anything more might be less.

I think I'd back the voc verb off a smidge, with such a sparse arrangment a little goes a long way. Do you maybe have the reverb in front of a compressor in the chain? It's almost like the tails are getting boosted or something. If so, might be better with the verb behind the comp.

Seems to be a little midrange bulge or something on the vocs, but dial in the tone a little better and this can stand on it's own.

Weird, I was gonna' say the same thing...to me though, it's not so much that there's too much verb, it's just that the vocal's not in the same space with the guitar. They may have the same verb on them, but it's accentuated a lot on the vocal...sounds kinda' like a plate, actually.

All that aside, nice job. I enjoyed this a lot.

Thanks guys for listening.

I suppose you're right that it doesn't really doesn't need anything added to it. I also agree that there is too much verb on the vocal. I don't time to work on it today, but I'll definitely fix that.

I love this song...well, the whole album, really. Your version is nice. The sparseness works for me. Maybe some light brushes on a snare drum would work, but nothing else.

Reminds me of the ambienceon the recently released Neil Young album from Massey Hall. Simple guitar/vocal arrangement coming across very well. I could hear a few acoustic runs, the brushes, the bass, but this stands up well on its own.

Have I told you lately that I love you, True?

I'm never statisfied, especially with my vocals.

I couldn't resist adding a mandolin, harmonica, and a bit of remixing it to rid it of that God awful reverb on the vocal.

I probably screwed it up royally, but what the hey!

Hi 60s, what mic was the harp done with? It sits just perfectly in there.

I might tweak the master a bit, but I can't think of any additional instrumentation that would add to this. You have a warm intimacy on this piece, I wouldn't mess with it. It's just you, a grand wooden porch, and the moonlight. Why spoil it?

I used the Marshall V67G for the harp. It could be my imagination, but the V67 seems to handle proximity effect rather well. My face and harp was definitely in the face of the mic. Ah, maybe I got lucky.

Thanks for the kind comments 'yall or is it ya'll. I can say it, I just can't spell it.

nice job 60s...to be honest I think I am with True on this one, I really liked the verb on the vox

But the new version has great additions, nice job man!
