My list is about done... need last minute views

Ok... I am in the process of venturing away from Soundblaster... and now ready for much better results.

After looking at soundcards and preamps, and preamps and soundcards. I have decided to go for a sort of All-In-One type thing. I found the Focusrite Saffire LE.

I will be recording mostly acoustic/vocals type stuff, with lead added. I don't need enough Ins to record more than 4 things at one time at least. So 4-ins will be fine.

Then I am in need of mics for the acoustic guitar. I believe I will take my chances with 2 MSH-2 mics. I was told that the MSH-2 sound better for the acoustic pop kind of stuff. If I am mixed up, LET ME KNOW.

After that.. I will need a vocal mic. This is really where I am not certain. I was thinking about the AKG Perception 200.

That is all I plan on spending right now... I would really like to spend less on the vocal mic if I could. I have heard pretty good things about that mic though.

I think I am going to go after a SM-57 for recording my electric guitar soon after.

Just let me know what you guys think. If I could get a better deal on any of the stuff, tell me because I definately don't want to spend a ton. I am doing this for my own personal enjoyment.. not anything professional by any means.

I highly recommend the SaffireLE for what you're doing, good choice. Look at the Studio Projects B-1 mic. You can use it for alot of things and its decent for how cheap it is.

Just wandering.. what is the difference between the Saffire (just regular) and SaffireLE?

i dont know much about the focusrite stuff, but i have heard so much good stuff about them. but one thing i would suggest is if you want a cab mic, het the sennheiser e609. its an icredible mic,. i just picked it up and it is so much better than my 57. i found my 57 to add way to much bass and make it sound messy, but the 609 sounded so precise and clean. it just picks up what it hears, and you can also use them for toms too which is a plus.
