My Fostex R8 question about tape scrape?

Hey Guys,
one more thread and I've got to get some sleep. I'm sick with the flu, but this site's addicting. My R8 machine records, plays fine. The only thing is, while the tape is running,
the side of it rubs on the right hub. Making a slight scraping sound, arghhhhhh, It drives me crazy.... If it was miced it'd sound like someone continuously circling a metal shovel on the driveway...Doesn't affect anything at all, but... it's just bothersom...Any Ideas?

Aaron if you are using a metal reel sometimes they can become bent. Check it out and see if thats the case. or sometimes when these machines get shipped with out the original box the motor shaft can get bent or out of alignment.

What Herm said, plus check reel table height. Most reels aren't perfectly straight, but you can manage to get the flanges to miss the tape on both sides by careful setting of table height. They can also get pushed in with bad packing and shipping.
