Question about placement of my analog studio setup

Ok, Ok.... This might seem REEL dumb, but here goes....(I've always wondered about this) I have my studio desk setup with the mixer (Alesis Studion 24) in the middle and the right and left near field monitors (Alesis Monitor One's) at the far end of each side of the desk. For the Right and Left Stereo sound. Also, I have two Fostex R8 reel to reel machines and it would seem good for me to place each one one each side of the mixing board. Would the magnets from the monitors affect the tape on the reel to reel's?

Should not be a real problem as long as the speakers are roughly 6-8 feet away.

Of course, this is only my hunble opinion.
