Need help choosing gear

I am looking to get a new MIDI keyboard, i currently have a microKORG but want a dedicated controller. I was thinking either the Korg K49 or the Novation 49 and i want to run this along with my keyboard and REASON 3 Korg pad KONTROL

i though if i went for the K49 it would be cheaper although it does not have all the features that the novation has, i could run it with the pad and do the same things but be cheaper than buying the novation.

On the other hand the novation i am guessing is better than the korg but i don't need anything crazy just really a standard keyboard. Don't really know why i want the pad, i just think it would be a good addition to my home studio.

I am running pro tools and REASON and recording dance music and acoustic also metal and occasionaly will do other styles.

Think this would be a good set-up for me?

I would consider holding out for 61 keys. I had/have a 49 key controller and regretted buying it. Now I have a 61 key and wish I had a 76. Then 88....

Also agreed.

Depends on user too. I personally have a simple m-audio keystation49 for Reason & the korg pad control too, but 49 keys' for me is inadequate for my own needs.

Bought a Korg K49 and a Korg pad KONTROL also a midi cable and a snare stand for the pad.

I am not a huge keys player, i look at a picec of music consisting of a few chords and can work them out in a few mins and another few to learn it, but by no means am i doing chord progression all over the place, just simple stuff. This stuff is for just doing instrument parts on reason the microKORG keys are too small, maybe in a year or 2 as i get better i will get something wirh more keys.
